Social motivation + health.

HEALTH STARTUP

Problems

  • Based on research, 15 million children and teens in the U.S. are obese, while only 28% engage in advised 60 min of daily activity.
  • Though social factors play a significant role in youth engagement in physical activities, platforms are scarce.
  • Although 71% of  teens consider themselves civically engaged, they communicate gaps in connectedness + knowledge.

Challenges

  • How might we change teens’ health decision-making behavior over time?
  • How might we make a difference with a new platform vs using existing ones?

Solutions

  • Platform providing social support + motivation from peers to positively influence adolescents’ physical activity.
  • Connecting social activation, style, music, + physical activity.
  • Move together virtually with peers.

Results

  • Following prototyping + testing, user market fit shifted to changing eating habits for adults.
